Cricket: Blind team players, management probed
Committee to give recommendations tomorrow.
KARACHI:
A four-member commission, formed to probe Pakistan blind team’s defeat to their Indian counterparts last month, has questioned the players and team management on the unexpected loss against the archrivals.
The world champions, who were the favourites to win the series, lost the one-day and T20 series in Chennai, ending their run of seven successive series wins. Unhappy with the result, the Pakistan Blind Cricket Council (PBCC) formed a committee to investigate the loss and it held its first session yesterday.
“All the players and officials who took part in the series were questioned,” PBCC Chairman Syed Sultan Shah told The Express Tribune. “The committee will meet again before sending its recommendations to the council on April 10.”
The PBCC is expected to make changes after reviewing the committee’s finding to prepare the squad for the blind World Twenty20 Cup in December in India.
