The five main churches; Sacred Heart Cathedral, Anarkali Church, Naulakha Presbyterian Church, St Anthony’s Church and Youhanabad Church hosted special services. The LWMC set up camps to provide drinking water and sweets amongst the faithful. A marching band joined the camp at Sacred Heart Church on The Mall.
Sacred Heart Church’s Father Andrew Ansari appreciated the gesture. He hoped that it would promote harmony between the majority community and Christians. He also praised the LWMC’s work in cleaning the city.
Anarkali Church’s Father Inayat Bernard personally visited the LWMC stall and distributed sweets donated by the company amongst people. He said that to keep their surroundings clean was a moral imperative. LWMC Communication department’s Atif Masood, Memoona Arslan, Christina Patras, Shafqat Rasool, and Shumail Asif visited the camps.
LWMC Managing Director Wasim Ajmal Chaudhry said workers were the company’s most valuable asset. “The management will soon announce a health insurance policy for them,” he said.
