FAISALABAD: A girl poisened her grandfather in Ghazi Darbar area in Gojra city.Muhammad Akram, the complainant, told police that his daughter Samina Bibi had poisoned his father Khushi Mohammad for opposing her wish to marry a neighbour. He said the family had opposed Samina’s plan and had reprimanded and beaten her to stop her. He said, “I and my wife sided with her and were able to persuade the family to give up opposition to the marriage. However, Khushi remained opposed to the marraige.” Akram alleged that Samina put poison in her grandfather’s tea on Friday. He said that Khushi fainted after drinking his tea and was taken to hospital where he passed away. Akram also named the neighbour Adnan and his relatives, Ishaq, Abdul Ghafoor and Khalid Pervaiz as suspects. Gojra City Police SHO Mohammad Ashraf said charges will be added as per the postmortem report.
