James McCartney, son of Beatles singer Paul McCartney said in an interview with the BBC that a new generation of The Beatles could be on the horizon.
The 34-year-old musician, who is following his famous father’s footsteps into the industry, said that forming a band with fellow Beatles children Sean Lennon (son of John Lennon), Dhani Harrison (son of George Harrison) and Zak and Jason Starkey (Ringo Starr’s sons) was not out of the question. “I don’t think it’s something that Zak wants to do. However, Jason might want to do it. I’d be up for it. Sean seemed to be into it, Dhani seemed to be into it,” said James.
The Beatles, who hailed from Liverpool, England, became one of the best-selling bands in the world in the 1960s, triggering a wave of Beatlemania for hits like “Love Me Do”, “Yellow Submarine” and “Let it Be”. They split in a bitter breakup in the early 1970s and went on to have solo careers.
The younger McCartney is currently launching his own music career after playing with his father on two of his albums, and said his rock lineage has helped him in his career, welcoming comparisons between himself and his father. “I think it’s an honour. I don’t really think I am quite as good as The Beatles or my father but there are definitely influences,” said the singer.
James, whose mother Linda died in 1998, was known to have fallen out with his father during Paul’s second marriage to Heather Mills, reported dailymail.co.uk. Asked about his relationship with his father, James admitted it had been “difficult” on occasion. However, he added, “He’s a genius, he’s beyond genius, and he’s a big inspiration. Very intellectual and amazing at what he does, so it’s great fun.”

@Ines i think Yoko is the person who always oppose Julian Lennon, since Yoko holds the rights of Lennon's songs, she seems to be very possessive about it.
Why does the article (and many of you readers commenting) compare the kids' (yet-to-be actualized) band" to the Beatles themselves? Obviously, no one will ever compare to the Beatles, It's ludicrous, lazy and uninspired to compare the sons to their (collective) fathers.
No matter what they do, they can't repeat the success of the original fab four! Since not only they have written some amazing tunes but they were original as well!
Why not with Julian Lennon?! I cant understand why they dont say anything about him!!!! UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!
