No boycott: PML-N to take part in PNSC session

Gilani calls Nawaz, invites him to participate in the session to discuss the terms of engagement with the US.

After a telephonic conversation between Prime Minster Yousaf Raza Gilani and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday, the PML-N has decided to reverse its earlier decision and attend the session of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security (PCNS).

PML-N had earlier decided to boycott the session.

According to the details, Gilani called Nawaz and invited him to participate in the PCNS session to be held on Thursday, to discuss the terms of engagement with the United States.

It was reported earlier that the all-party, bicameral parliamentary panel was likely to keep the decision on reopening Nato supply route vague in the second draft of the proposal, instead of proposing anything explicitly on the issue.

The proposal, if adopted, will allow necessary face-saving to both, Parliament and government, in taking the final decision to lift the four-month old blockade, said an official familiar with the development.
