Journalists Demand: ‘Link media grant to wage award’

Journalists of the twin cities held a demonstration on Tuesday against non-implementation of wage award by the owners of media organisations, in violation of a Supreme Court decision, and non-payment of salaries by some media organisations. The protest was organised by the Rawalpindi-Islamabad Union of Journalists (RIUJ) and demonstrators said the government should have linked its Rs330 million grant to owners of media organisations with the implementation of wage award.
