Domestic violence: Man attempts to chop off wife’s nose
Saima Bibi, 21, had left her husband, Niaz Gul, to live with her parents after he beat her three months ago.
MANSEHRA:
A man attempted to chop off his wife’s nose in Shinkiari on Tuesday after she demanded fair treatment from her abusive partner.
According to the police, Saima Bibi, 21, had left her husband, Niaz Gul, to live with her parents after he beat her three months ago. When he visited her to ask her to return home, she demanded an assurance that he would not ill-treat her, which “infuriated him” and he attacked her with a knife, attempting to chop off her nose, said the police.
Saima put up a fight and stabbed Gul in the arm and back. She was saved by the timely return of her parents and taken to Mansehra Hospital where she underwent surgery to prevent disfigurement, as her nose was not severed. Doctors said her injury was severe.
The police have registered a case against the accused.
