Supporting research: SNGPL sponsors chair on gas engineering
Research work on alternative energy sources as biogas and developing innovative techniques for energy conservation

Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) and the University of Punjab (PU) have signed a memorandum of understanding for sponsoring a Chair on Gas Engineering at the Institute of Chemical Engineering and Technology of PU.
SNGPL MD Arif Hameed and PU Vice Chancellor Dr Mujahid Kamran signed the MoU. According to the MoU, SNGPL will sponsor a Chair on Gas Engineering for research work on alternative energy sources such as biogas and developing innovative techniques for energy conservation.
SNGPL will provide an annual grant of Rs3.32 million for the purpose. Speaking on the occasion, the SNGPL MD emphasised that due to the gap in demand and supply of gas, it was the need of the hour to find solutions to the problem of energy shortage.
