Cricket: Misbah supports ICC rankings

“It’s really difficult to prosper under the current system,” said Afridi.

ISLAMABAD:
Pakistan captain Misbahul Haq has supported the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) ranking system, saying it is reasonable and just. “I think the system is fair and objective,” he said. “It takes into consideration home and away matches.” However, Misbah said that for a country like Pakistan, it has become difficult to improve on their rankings as they have not played international cricket at home since the attack on the Sri Lankan. Meanwhile, Shahid Afridi expressed his frustration with the ICC ranking system, saying it made nearly impossible for a team to improve their rankings. “It’s really difficult to prosper under the current system,” said Afridi. “I have no clue what the rankings are based on.”
