Fifteen USAID-funded community schools have become operational in Swat district. The US relief agency initiated the project in collaboration with the Peace and Development Organisation (PADO). The project will target children of all ages, according to a press release. The 15 schools will provide free education to around 1,500 children in the union councils of Madiyan, Bahrain and Tirat, said PADO Managing Director Ziaullah Khan. The students will also be provided textbooks, notebooks and other school items free of cost, he added.
