Mehran university: Technological conference wraps up

The three-day International Multi-Topic Conference concluded at the Mehran University of Engineering and Technology (MUET) on Friday.


Scientists from 30 countries had presented 51 research papers over the course of the event.

Telecommunication, multimedia information system, wireless networks, simulation and modelling, computer and software engineering, brain computer interface, neural networks and social networking and electronics were some of the subjects that were covered. MUET pro vice chancellor and chairman of the conference, Mohammad Aslam Uqaili, said that the conference was organised in collaboration with Aalborg University, Denmark, City University, London and the Erasmus Mundus Programme of the European Commission.

Dr Rob Kelly of Massachusetts Institute of Technology, US, Prof Neil White of University of Southampton, UK, Dr Andrew H Kemp of University of Leeds, UK, Sandeep Mathur, president India and South Asia of Tata Communications and Dr Dil Muhammad Akbar Hussain of Aalborg University, Denmark, were among the nine keynote speakers. Pakistan Peoples Party member Sharmila Farooqi was the chief guest at the concluding ceremony.
