LAHORE:

Lahore Bar Association (LBA) on Thursday withdrew its call for a protest demonstration against the police after they were informed that one of the suspects of murder of Nasrullah Warraich, a former Punjab Bar Council member, had been arrested.

The LBA office bearers had planned to surround the office of the inspector general (IG) of police over police’s failure to arrest the suspects.

Addressing the lawyers at Aiwan-i-Adl, LBA President Chaudhry Zulifqar Ali said the IG and the deputy inspector general had assured an LBA delegation that one of the suspects had been arrested.

He said the police officers also informed them that another suspect had been identified.

They were told that the third criminal had fled abroad.
