Wana Jirga: Ahmadzai tribesmen given 15 days to clear area of miscreants

Security forces hand over bodies of eight militants to political administration.

WANA: A Jirga held on Thursday at the Wana Scouts Camp gave a deadline of 15 days to the Ahmadzai tribe to clear the area of miscreants.

The Jirga was attended by Ahmadzai tribesmen and representatives of the security forces and South Waziristan political administration. It was decided that if the Ahmadzai tribe did not fulfill the task of maintaining peace and clearing the area of miscreants, the political administration authorities will take action against them under the Frontier Crimes Regulation (FCR), depriving them of facilities of local Khasadar force and other privileges.

Their business activities would also be banned.

Eight bodies handed over to political administration

Meanwhile, security forces handed over the bodies of militants to the political administration.

Talking to The Express Tribune, an official of the political administration confirmed the receipt of eight bodies. The militants were shot dead in an operation called, ‘Sting Operation’ near Shinwarsak area, six miles in the west of Wana.

Poor tribsmen! How about threatening the operational commanders of the army to be fired from their jobs if they did not clear the area? Security forces get paid for this job. Why ask tribsmen who are already paying heavy price due to presence of the miscreants.
