LAHORE: The Lahore High Court chief justice on Wednesday dismissed as withdrawn a petition seeking a ban on administration of polio vaccine to children.

The CJ, while rejecting the plea, asked the petitioner, "Wouldn’t you like to see healthy children in the society?" Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed observed that if polio were not eliminated from Pakistan, no country would issue visas to Pakistanis. A petitioner had submitted that the government should be stopped from “forcibly administrating” polio vaccine to children.
