Tennis: Aqeel moves into second round
Crushes local number one Khaled Althawadi 6-2, 6-4.
KARACHI:
National champion and Pakistan number one Aqeel Khan eased into the second round of the Bahrain Futures after crushing local number one Khaled Althawadi 6-2, 6-4 in the men’s singles event in Manama. The tennis ace took less than an hour to beat Althawadi as he took the first set in just 15 minutes before completing his dominant win in straight sets. He will now play Czech Republic’s Michal Schmid today in the second-round match.
