Sindh government to impose ban on carrying weapons
The Sindh Home Department will issue an official notification regarding the ban.
KARACHI:
The government of Sindh has once again decided to impose a ban on carrying weapons in Karachi. The government had earlier lifted the ban on March 12, saying that people needed self-defence.
The decision was taken considering the situation in the city. The Sindh Home Department will issue an official notification regarding the ban.
Traders have said that they should have permission to carry weapons.
Karachi had earlier become a target of fierce aggression as tyres and vehicles were set on fire, people were killed in firing incidents and roads were blocked on the day when MQM announced to mourn the death of its workers.
At least 10 people lost their lives, two dozen were injured and around 46 vehicles set alight in the violence.
