PESHAWAR:

Three passers-by were slightly injured in a bomb blast in Peshawar’s Yousufabad locality on Dalazak Road on Tuesday, police said.

The bomb had been planted near the house of a tribal businessman Haji Firdous who hails from the Kala Khel area of the Khyber Agency. After the blast police and local people reached the spot and shifted the injured to the Lady Reading Hospital (LRH).

Area SHO Hameed Khan said that less than one kilogram of explosive had been used in the blast.

Over the past year, several Kala Khel bound passenger pick-ups have been targeted by militants in the Matani area on the outskirts of the city. Lady Reading Hospital Casualty Deputy Medical Superintendent Dr Ikram said that they had received three injured patients.

Two were hospitalised while the third was discharged after first aid.

“Their condition is stable and out of danger as they have received minor injuries,” he added.
