Wrapping up the hues and frolic of Nowruz

Event orgnised by Embassy of Iran in collaboration with Lok Virsa, National Institute of Folk & Traditional Heritage.

After much ado, the Nowruz festival concluded at Shakarparian here on Tuesday. The festival encompassed an exhibition of paintings and photography, musical performances by Iranian folk artists and musicians and a display of metal works, said a press release issued by Lok Virsa.


The exhibition comprised over 80 masterpieces depicting various shrines, old architecture, rural life and craft heritage of Iran.

An artist, Rajabi sang Iranian national, devotional and folk songs in the accompaniment of five musicians on santoor, duff, sitar, guitar, flute and drum. The exhibition of metal works presented 25 household items created by the Iranian craftspeople.

The event was orgnised by  the Embassy of Iran in collaboration with Lok Virsa, National Institute of Folk & Traditional Heritage.
