Malik had earlier appeared before the commission investigating the Memogate scandal to record his statement in response to the allegations leveled by Ijaz claiming that Malik had a meeting with the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) chief.
Recalling the events which led to his meeting with Ijaz during a seminar in November 2000, Malik said that Ijaz had invited him for a lunch during which an Indian man showed up. He said that Ijaz had introduced him as a businessman but he left the meeting with the suspicion that the man was the RAW chief.
Ijaz in a statement issued via email said that Malik had made many sacrifices for the Kashmir cause and it was because of this he had helped him achieve a “structural ceasefire with Indian security forces that brought peace to the Kashmir valley for an extended period.”
The Pakistani-American businessman said:
It is thus even more unfortunate that Yasin allowed himself to be dragged into the Memorandum affair yesterday as a pawn in the unprecedented cover up being orchestrated by Husain Haqqani, Pakistan's former ambassador to the United States, and those still in power that he used to answer to.
Ijaz has also called on Malik to retract his statement and adds that he has email records, telephone and hotel bills and other evidence of their meeting and the people present during them.

Understandable it is a big game that needs to be looked into carefully and would take time to reach its final results and the truth to come ou! but I dont understand why such a high profile judiciary allowed Haqqani to leave the country in the first place!
@Tariq Ahmad: You should believe (1) St. Mansoor Ijaz and of course the excitable, clueless (2) Dr.Mir Kamran Masood Chaudhry .
@SKChadha: Why not?Any thing can happen in CJP's durbar except justice to common man.
Why not issue summons to RAW chief ... ???
World according to Ijaz:
Everyone is lying: General Jones Yasin Malik US Government Pak Government His creditors His bankers
Who are we to believe
So Ijaz keeps email records from 20 years ago, interesting did not think we even had email back then
Yasin Malik calls Mansoor Ejaz a liar. Mansoor Ejaz calls YAsin Malik a liar. Husain Haqani calls Mansoor Ejaz a liar. Mansoor Ejaz calls Husain haqani a liar.
I need a software program to keep account of all this.
Mr. Mansoor Ijaz is lying. Mr. Yasin Malik is Lying. Mr. Haqanni may not be saying the the whole truth. Summary : 2 of Pakistani origin and 1 wanna-be-pakistani are lying. So why is this news ?
An unsigned (fake?) letter can shake the citadel of Islam, especially when no one acted upon the advise if it were not a fake one.
@Farzan: Well said, he is a real all-rounder, boundaries and decency means nothing to this true internationalist!
@logic Europe: what do you mean by WILL? Unfortunately it HAS humiliated itself. Justice IMC couldnt his once overwhelming grassroots popularity to a good use. Such a waste of an opportunity.
Mahesh Bhat may be the next to apply to the Supreme Court to make his submission !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And the drama goes on! I think the SC should charge general kiyani and DG ISI pasha for starting Memogate and wasting this unfortunate nation's time and energy on this useless charade. As if we dont have any other problems like load shedding and lawlessness.
The memogossip written in Sydney Sheldon style the so-called independent judiciary has written off fundamental rights from the constitution to support and declare army above civilians, and has held national security over and above fundamental rights. The memogossip aims only against PPP. The judiciary hates not only PPP, but is indebted to the person who paved the way for their reinstatement in 2010. PCO was bad in 2007 but it was okayed by Allah, so those who took oath under PCO in 1999 to follow the instructions of a military dictator...not the constitution were angels. Who has double standards...?
@logic Europe: Good..that is the only real truth of this bitter tale.
Now Mansur Ijaz is sabotaging the freedom struggle of the people of Kashmir. I condemn the media in Paksitan that is the mouthpiece of Mansur Ijaz who is hatching highly condemnable conspiracy against the independce movement of Kashmir on his masters wishes...RAW.If our media and judiciary have some shame left they should go to hell.
This is playing out like a 'Desperate Housewives' episode.
This is getting boring now.
@ALi: Maybe some more Hidden truth reveal.....:)
only a bent crooked partisan judiciary can waste time on interviewing a man with no integrity he is and was no body but hatred for PPP has allowed judiciary to get involved in a liars tale and eventually will humiliate the supreme court
@Pollack: "I wouldn’t be surprised if he is actually a RAW asset."
Even Mansoor Ejaz isn't saying that. Ejaz is saying that he introduced Malik to RAW chief. Malik is saying he introduced me to an Indian businessman - who may actually have been RAW chief. So even if we believe Ejaz's version is true it means that an introduction to RAW chief was needed. That would hardly be the case if he was a RAW asset.
As far as freeing him from jail - neither Yasin Malik nor Indian government has denied that they were negotiating with him for peace in the valley. So his freedom could be a direct outcome of negotiations with the Indian government.
When MI is talking against Mr.Zardari,Mr.Haqqani his words are gospel truth. When he deviates from this path,he is a big liar.
If Ijaz in fact correct that Yasin Malik was supporting a cover up for Hussain Haqqani - it begs the question why he would do so? Unless his movement for Kashmir independence is funded by Pakistan government who is now pressuring him.
Of course in my previous post I have indicated that Ijaz's 'proofs' are not conclusive by any eans - but if he IS saying the truth, one questions the implications of that.
@Ahmed
And you know all of this because.......
Its entirely believable that Yasmin Malik has contacts with RAW. He was let off prison even after conviction due to "I'll health". I wouldn't be surprised if he is actually a RAW asset. People like him who are personally involved in killings are not let off for reasons of "I'll health" without getting something in return. Ijaz may appear to be a joker like character with no credibility but not everything a joker says is a joke.
The 'proofs' that Ijaz is offering does not prove Malik is lying. Ijaz says he can offer flight tickets, hotel reservation etc. Malik is not denying that he met Ijaz. He also is saying that Malik invited another Indian person who was introduced as a businessman. It's Malik's word against Ijaz's word about how the introduction was made.
Ijaz's proofs on Haqqani are similar. HE says he spoke t Haqqani - which Haqqani is not denying. HE is saying he sent a memo without Haqqani's review or signature to Jim Jones. Obviously that is not anything Haqqani would deny. Then he says that during one of the calls Haqqani dictated the memo to him - for which he has no phone recording and it is his word against Haqqani.
Why Mansoor Ijaz should get more publicity than Yasin Malik
Mansoor Ijaz has proof of everything right up until the point where he has to reveal it, which when we find out that Mansoor Ijaz is nothing but a charlatan. Memogate is nothing but a charade orchestrated by former DG ISI to get an extension. Now that he's gone, memogate will die a slow, quiet death, and Mansoor Ijaz's struggle to remain relevant will inevitably reach its sorry end, the Pakistani media's efforts notwithstanding.
most likely Malik is lying.mansur,s way of talk is a way which only a truth speaking person can talk.Malik want to save his face. I've no doubt that like other Pakistanese malik is bluntly a liar.
This case is getting complicated by every passing day.
This man every day exposing startling revealations. What is the truth probably will never come out.
Mansoor Ijaz: Pandora box
Mansoor Ijaz, what a player!
