Chelsea Handler has addressed speculation about her relationship with Ralph Fiennes after the two were spotted together following the 2025 Oscars. Speaking to Entertainment Tonight on March 5, Handler dismissed any romantic connection, clarifying that they simply attended multiple parties as part of a larger group.

“Ralph Fiennes and I went from one party to another with a group of people, and that’s all that happened,” Handler stated. While addressing the speculation, she humorously remarked on her views about marriage, saying, “I don’t think Ralph Fiennes is marriage material, and I don’t think I’m marriage material.”

The speculation began after the pair was seen laughing and leaving the Vanity Fair Oscars after-party together on March 2. Their friendly interaction followed Handler’s playful comments about Fiennes at the Critics Choice Awards, where she joked about being attracted to his characters. While presenting, she quipped, “You've played a ruthless Nazi, an evil lord, and a celibate cardinal, and somehow you've made me want to have sex with you in all roles.”

Fiennes, 62, was previously married to actress Alex Kingston from 1993 to 1997, while Handler’s last high-profile relationship was with comedian Jo Koy, which ended in 2022. Though Handler is not dating Fiennes, she recently revealed she is seeing someone. During The Jamie Kern Lima Show on March 4, she shared that she is dating a person she is "very attracted to" and enjoys spending time with.

Despite the rumors, Handler emphasized that their Oscars night outing was purely platonic, reinforcing that their friendship—much like the star-studded after-party—was all in good fun.
