Harsh treatment: ASI beaten up by group of people
Shikarpur police booked more than 50 persons for allegedly beating and injuring a Lakhidar police official.
SUKKUR:
Shikarpur police booked more than 50 persons for allegedly beating and injuring a Lakhidar police official on Monday evening. Lakhidar ASI Ishrat Hussain Mangi was conducting routine checking at Lakhidar chowk, when he stopped Abdul Fatah Teghani and his friends, and asked them to show their identification documents. Teghani, who is reportedly a close relative of Sardar Tegho Khan Teghani, became frustrated, and started beating the official along with his accomplices. However, residents stopped Teghani and his friends from further assaulting Mangi, who was, by that time, injured severely. They took the injured ASI to the police station, and were accompanied by Teghani and his friends. Mangi was later shifted to Civil Hospital, Shikarpur, and Teghani’s group left the station after police had registered an FIR against 50 people. Some of those who were booked include Abdul Fatah Teghani, his brother Abdul Nabi Teghani, Abdul Majeed Banglani, Abdul Haq Teghani, Shahnawaz Banglani among others, but no arrest was made till the filing of this report.
