LAHORE:
The Lahore High Court on Monday directed the senior superintendent of police (SSP) for operations to recall security officials deputed to the residences of senior officials and redeploy them at the courts. Justice Manzoor Ahmad Malik issued this order to improve security at the LHC in the wake of frequent scuffles at the court premises between litigant parties, especially in love marriage cases. The judge directed the SSP to also consult bar leaders to improve the security arrangements. “You will be responsible in case such an incident occurs again,” the judge warned. He was hearing a petition from a couple seeking the quashment of cases lodged by the bride’s family against the groom.
