Bail petitions: Police record summoned on April 7
Officials have been accused of negligence in the Isotab reaction tragedy that claimed around 150 lives.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Sheraz Kiani on Monday again summoned the police record and issued a notice to the state for April 7 in the pre-arrest bail petition of three deputy medical superintendents of the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC). The officials have been accused of negligence in the Isotab reaction tragedy that claimed around 150 lives. The judge issued the orders again after lawyers boycotted court proceedings in protest after a lawyer was gunned down in Karachi. At the last hearing the judge had granted interim bail to the three PIC officials, Dr Muhammad Amir, Dr Sheikh Waris Ghaba and Dr Nasir Mehmood Bhatti, against bonds of Rs100,000 each.
