Close call: Four labourers survive roof collapse

Neighbours rushed to the house and pulled all four out from under the rubble before shifting them to a hospital.

GILGIT:
At least four day-labourers were injured after the roof of their house collapsed late on Saturday, locals and the police said. The incident occurred in Cheeta Colony of Jutial while the labourers were sleeping, police said, adding that the recent rainy spell may be the cause. Neighbours rushed to the house and pulled all four out from under the rubble before shifting them to a hospital, where one of the injured remains in critical condition. “We heard a loud crashing noise and rushed to the house, where we found the inmates stuck under the debris. We worked with other neighbours to rescue them,” said Mujahid Alam, a neighbour, adding that the labourers were from Astore valley.
