Shaman Memon, a trader, his friends and driver were abducted on their way to visit a sick friend in Sukkur on Friday night.
The authorities claim that the driver suffered a heart attack and died. The suspects left the body on the road and took the other men to an undisclosed location. The Khairpur C-Section police said that the abducted include Shaman Memon, Abdul Qadir alias Papoo Larik, Haji Sonaro and Shafqat Kalhoro. On Saturday, the national highway was blocked by members of the Ujjan tribe who were protesting against the kidnapping. Khairpur SSP Irfan Baloch negotiated with the protesters and assured them that they the men would be rescued. The police claim that Memon and his friends were near Gambheer Village when the incident took place.
