Rugby: Pakistan seek Irish luck in May
Rugby team set to get foreign coach for Asian Five-Nation Division III event.
KARACHI:
The Pakistan Rugby Union (PRU) plans to rope in a former Irish international to train the national squad for the forthcoming Asian Five-Nation Division III event.
The PRU President Fawzi Khwaja said that the deal with Justin Fitzpatrick was near completion and he will arrive next month. The event will be held in Kuala Lumpur in May and Pakistan’s group includes India, Indonesia and Guam.
“Fitzpatrick is experienced and will work with us for a month,” Khwaja told The Express Tribune. “Playing against India is always a motivating factor in any sport and our players are also looking forward to that.”
Khwaja added that the preparations had already started with training under local coaches.
