Boxing: Mayweather must ‘secure his legacy’
Mayweather will need to fight middleweight champion Sergio Martinez of Argentina in order to secure his legacy.
MANILA:
American boxer Floyd Mayweather will need to fight middleweight champion Sergio Martinez of Argentina in order to secure his legacy as one of the greatest boxers in history, according to HB boxing commentator Harold Lederman. “Mayweather should be thinking about and concentrating on his legacy now,” said Lederman. “He has to fight Martinez, and the fight can only take place right at the Madison Square Garden in New York (where many past boxing icons have fought famous battles).” The reason for fighting in the Garden was that Mayweather has never fought there, with most of his fights occurring in Las Vegas.
