Pakistan day: KC hears about political activism, right to vote

‘Political Activism and Right to Vote’, a tutorial at the Kinnaird College for Women to mark the Pakistan Day.

“Every citizen has the right to vote. What needs to be worked on is that they realise it,” Justice Nasira Iqbal said on Tuesday.  She was addressing a tutorial at the Kinnaird College for Women to mark the approaching Pakistan Day. Justice Iqbal talked about civic activism and youth participation in political and social movements.



The tutorial, organised by KC Department of Political Science, was titled ‘Political Activism and Right to Vote’. Ali Aftab Saeed, journalist and singer, also attended the tutorial as one of the guest speakers. He entertained the students with his music, highlighting current political issues.

The Political Science students presented a theatrical perforce written, directed and narrated by a student Amal Ghani.

This was followed by a presentation by Zoya Ashraf, the event moderator, on a report of mock elections held at the Kinnaird College last week. The presentation highlighted the historical and political importance of Pakistan Day. Principal Dr Rukhsana David concluded the event by presenting token of appreciation to the guests.
