KARACHI:
Public transporters in the city expressed dismay after their vehicles were set on fire during the strike on Saturday and demanded compensation for them. Members of the Karachi Transport Action Committee said in a statement that while the strike was called against extortionists, it was their vehicles that came under attack. “It has become a tradition to set buses and other vehicles on fire without any reason during these strikes,” said the protesters. They also lamented that such incidents take place in front of police and ranger officials.
