PML-N set to spoil Zardari's historic moment

Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) has decided that President Asif Ali Zardair’s historic address in the National Assembly will not go smoothly.  A sequence of events such as thumping the desks, cahnting slogans. Six MNAs have also been tasked with delivering their speeches without microphones, while after the end of this segment, the party will boycott the joint sitting of the parliament, Express News reported on Friday.

President Zardari is due to address the joint session which is going to be held on Saturday at 1.30pm. This will be the first time an elected President will be addressing the fifth consecutive joint session of the Assembly.

The PML-N had followed a similar strategy last year.

It was not clear that whether the PML-N will support the MQM who had announced its decision to boycott the President’s speech. The MQM later rescinded its decision.

Zardari last year addressed the fourth joint session, on which PML-N’s Nisar Ali Khan tried to speak on point of order but was not allowed to speak. The party, after creating some noise in the house, boycotted the joint session.

Even though most people dislike zardari. How is thumping desks going to do anything. Just listen to the speech and go home. Where are your energies when the parliament is actually doing its work?
