Two schools damaged in Lakki blasts

Two schools and a tube-well were damaged in separate bomb blasts, and police defused 10 kilograms of explosives in a search operation in the district on Thursday. Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility for the blasts.
According to District Police Officer (DPO) Gulzar Ali, an explosion triggered by a locally made bomb destroyed two rooms and a veranda at the primary school for boys in Dhoda early in the morning.
In the same Dhoda village, a bomb planted close to a tube-well damaged the water supply line and a mosque nearby.
Another bomb blast at a middle school for boys in Zyar Jano village damaged the office of the headmaster, a veranda and some classrooms.
Meanwhile, police and personnel of other law enforcement agencies, in a joint operation, recovered explosives weighing almost 5 kilograms each from the Zyar Jano middle school, Dhoda primary school and Mela Mandrakhel high school.
The bombs were locally manufactured and consisted explosives planted in buckets, DPO Gulzar told The Express Tribune.
