Judicial Appointment: SC registrar granted extension

He has worked as Registrar in a most transparent effective and honest manner, says CJ.

ISLAMABAD:
Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has given yet another extension to the Registrar of the Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan, Dr Faqir Hussain. A press release issued by the SC on Wednesday stated that while re-employing the registrar, the chief justice passed an order stating that “Dr Faqir Hussain, the incumbent registrar of the Supreme Court, is a person of high integrity, moral, caliber and qualification. He has worked as Registrar in a most transparent effective and honest manner.” It adds that Hussain’s re-employment due to non-availability of suitably qualified and experienced staff does not infringe upon the promotional prospects and rights of the other officers. The order further stipulates that the Chief Justice consulted the four senior most judges of the SC. These judges were of the unanimous opinion that Dr Hussain may be re-employed.
