The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) came under attack on Tuesday for problems related to the online payment system it initiated this month to transfer employees’ salaries directly into their accounts. KMC Collective Bargaining Agent (CBA) president, Syed Zulfikar Shah, blamed the KMC finance department for not processing the salaries that had been forwarded to it before March 5. Nearly 80 per cent of KMC employees are still waiting for their pay check. KMC’s financial adviser, Amir Khursheed said that the finance department received employees’ salary information on March 10.
