Provincial status: Lawyers favour Bahawalpur province
Resolution was signed by 222 members of the Lahore High Court Bar Association.
BAHAWALPUR:
The Lahore High Court Bar Association on Wednesday unanimously passed a resolution for grant of provincial status to Bahawalpur. The resolution was passed in a meeting, attended by Bar members and office bearers of the tehsil bars of Rahim Yar Khan, Bahawalpur and Bahawalnagar districts. The resolution for the grant of provincial status to Bahawalpur, a former princely state, was signed by 222 members of the Lahore High Court Bar Association. It was put forward by Advocate Malik Rafique Qamar. The meeting was presided over by Sharif Bhatti, the Bar Association president.
