Harvest Time: Food department sets price of wheat at Rs1,050 per 40 kg

The Sindh government decided to fix the target of wheat procurement in 2012 at 1.3 million tons (MT) and the support price at Rs1,050 per 40 kilogrammes.
The food department also decided that Section 144 CrPC will be imposed, banning the movement of the crop from one province to another.
According to the food department officials who briefed the meeting, the process of procuring wheat will begin immediately and 388 procurement centres are being set up across the province.
