Participation: Orphans to participate in a sports week
Seven-day event to begin on March 18.
ISLAMABAD:
To help organise a sports week for the orphan children living in Pakistan Sweet Homes (PSH), National University of Modern Languages (NUML) organised a fundraiser on Tuesday.
Students and teachers of the university are planning to hold the seven-day event from March 18 to 25 at the Sports Complex, Islamabad.
PBM Managing Director Zamurd Khan who was present on the occasion, was taken aback by the support shown towards the PSH, which is a project of PBM. He informed the audience that under the project over 3,000 orphans, between the ages of four and six, are enrolled in the 28 PSH. Food, boarding and quality education are provided to its young students. The project initially took off principally from generous philanthropic donations.
Speaking on the occasion, NUML Director General Brig Azam Jamal praised the efforts of PBM, adding that approximately 300 of its enrolled students are currently availing the PBM sponsored academic scholarship. In an effort to give back to the organisation, the university has pledged its support.
“I am ready to collect funds for the sports event of orphans who deserve encouragement from all of us,” said an MBA student Nasreen, after watching a documentary screened on the PSH project which also briefed the audience members about the achievements and new projects of PBM.
