Pakistan advance in World junior squash
KARACHI:
Pakistan advanced to the quarter-finals of the World Junior Team Squash Championship as they outclassed South Korea 3-0 in Quito, Ecuador.
Rising star Farhan Zaman gave Pakistan a 1-0 lead as he beat Daegil Her 11-6, 11-7 and 11-6 before Danish Atlas quashed Go Young-Jo 11-6, 11-3, 11-5 as Pakistan sealed the tie.
Nasir Iqbal confirmed the clean sweep when he overcame Jeon Dae-Hoon 11-4, 12-10.
Pakistan will now face Germany in the quarter-final while pre-tournament favourites Egypt face France after trouncing Columbia 3-0. India, Canada, New Zealand and England have also advanced by winning their respective last-16 matches.
