Schooling: Enrolment of 9,000 students sought

The chief secretary ordered the DCOs to take the matter of students’ admission to public-sector schools on priority.

Chief Secretary Nasir Mehmood Khosa on Friday ordered district coordination officers of Multan, Khanewal and Vehari to ensure that 9,000 students set to pass out of non-formal schools next month were admitted to government schools to continue their studies. Khosa was speaking after a meeting with Commissioner Khurram Agha. Earlier, he was briefed about progress in development projects, revenue collection and eviction of encroachers from state land. The chief secretary ordered the DCOs to take the matter of students’ admission to public-sector schools on priority. He said development projects should be completed within specified time period.
