Effective Policing: Sindh police to get 400 more women officers
Short-term training courses have been designed for the women officers.

The Sindh police will be inducting 400 more women officers into the ranks to add to the 900 which are already part of the force.
Sindh Inspector General Police Mushtaq Ahmed Shah held a meeting at the Central Police Office to review capacity-building measures for improving women policing. Deputy Inspector General Administration Abdul Khaliq Shah announced that short-term training courses have been designed for the women officers.
A refresher course in criminal law will focus mainly on the Protection of Women Act 2006, Criminal Law (Amendment) Act 2010 on sexual harassment, Protection against Harassment of Women at the Workplace Act 2010, Prevention of Anti-Women Practices (Amendment) Act 2011, Acid Control and Acid Crime Prevention Acts of 2010, among others.
The force will also be trained to counter violence against women, child rights, handling of juvenile offenders, police powers of arrests, entering a situation, searching suspects, seizing weapons or other things and questioning and the role of women police officers.
The courses will be offered at the Police Training School in Garden. Police officers, lawyers and civil society will also participate in the training.
