Hockey: PHF to discuss Butt, Abbasi’s fate
Both players skipped the training camp to participate in the Indian league.

The 22nd Pakistan Hockey Federation’s (PHF) Executive Board meeting will be held on March 15 in Lahore where matters pertaining to London Olympics will come under discussion, said a PHF statement. However, a PHF official said the board will also thoroughly discuss the matter of both former captains Rehan Butt and Shakeel Abbasi who defected to the unauthorised World Series Hockey in India despite warnings by the federation. Both players, who are part of the Pakistan preliminary squad for the Olympics, skipped the training camp to participate in the league. “A decision on both players is highly likely to be decided in the meeting,” said the official.
