Over 20 feared dead in Muzaffarabad bus accident
At least 20 people are feared dead after a Muzaffarabad bound passenger bus plunged into the river at Budhiara
MUZAFFARABAD:
At least 20 people are feared dead after a Muzaffarabad bound passenger bus plunged into the river at Budhiara near Gari Dopta on Thursday.
The ill-fated bus was coming from border town Chokothi to Muzaffarabad but when it reached Budhira near Gari Dopta, the driver lost control of the bus which plunged into the river, Muhammad Imtiaz Deputy Commissioner Muzaffarabard told APP.
Frequent land-sliding has led to deterioration of roads in the area. Locals say some people were sitting on the roof of the bus, which might have made it difficult for the driver to balance.
Locals are still looking for survivors and trying to recover victims’ bodies.
