MANSEHRA: The Hazara University, on Monday, temporarily reversed the decision to revise the fee structure. The university administration had announced a nearly 100% increase in admission and examination fees from the academic year 2012-13. Students of government colleges had staged a protest, blocking roads at various points in Hazara division. The protesters, on Saturday, had warned of agitation across the division if the administration failed to withdraw the fee hike by February 6. Hazara University Vice Chancellor (VC) Prof. Sakhawat Shah announced the restoration of the previous fee structure till further orders. “Following the simmering tension, the VC has deferred the decision of increase in the fee,” said Sajjad Ahmed, the university’s spokesperson, while talking to newsmen. Over 77 girls’ and boys’ government and private colleges with some 28000 students are affiliated with Hazara University.
