Football: Inter scramble draw against Catania
Ranieri’s grip on his Inter Milan job appeared precarious after his side had to fight back for a 2-2 draw.
ROME:
Claudio Ranieri’s grip on his Inter Milan job appeared precarious after his side had to fight back for a 2-2 draw against Catania. Alejandro Gomez gave the visitors a 20th-minute lead and Mariano Izco added the second 18 minutes later. However, Diego Forlan pulled one back for Inter after 71 minutes before Diego Milito grabbed the equaliser with 10 minutes left. Despite the result, Inter remain seventh in Serie A. “The team knew how to react,” said Ranieri. “At 2-0 down we could have lost hope, but this team never says never.” Elsewhere, Napoli beat Parma 2-1, while Lazio defeated city rivals Roma 2-1.
