BB murder case: SC wants notices sent to all respondents within 2 weeks

During hearing of 2nd FIR, court orders AG to send notice to Musharraf's residence in London.

ISLAMABAD:
The Supreme Court, expressing concern over the non-issuance of notices to key witnesses in Benazir Bhutto murder case, adjourned the hearing of the second FIR for two weeks.

The apex court inquired from Attorney General  Maulvi Anwarul Haq of why the notices summoning the respondents were not sent out.

The attorney general responded that a notice could not be sent to former president Pervez Musharraf because he is currently residing abroad and also not to former law minister Babar Awan because he does not have a permanent office.

The court ordered the attorney general to send the notice to Musharraf’s residence in London, and also to locate Awan’s address.

However, two other respondents, former Rawalpindi city police chief Saud Aziz and former Rawalpindi city SP Khurram Shehzad, submitted their replies to the court through the attorney general. In the reply, they maintained that there was no need of a second FIR as the first one was already being heard.

Federal Investigative Agency’s (FIA) application seeking to be a respondent in the case was also accepted by the court. The FIA has been asked to appear before the court in the next hearing.
