After highlighting a blasphemy case in Talang, a reporter from a local newspaper has been declared ‘wajibulqatal’ (liable to be killed) by religious clerics in the area. On January 29, resident Sufi Ishaq was sentenced to death over blasphemy charges, despite the local SP claiming that the man was innocent. However, he was declared guilty in another inquiry. In a Youtube video, Ishaq declares that he could never think of committing blasphemy.  When a reporter from Chakwal wrote an article about the incident in a local weekly newspaper ‘Aasar’, he was attacked by religious clerics, who said he deserved to be killed.
