LAHORE: Calling it propaganda aimed at tarnishing his party’s image, Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) secretary general Liaquat Baloch on Sunday denied having ever received any funds from the ISI. Baloch, while addressing a press conference at Lahore Press Club, deplored that some TV anchors had been wrongly naming him instead of former Sindh chief minister Liaquat Jatoi mentioned in the relevant documents. He alleged that despite being informed in this regard, some mediamen were persisting defaming his party. “JI had moved a bill in the National Assembly seeking elimination of secret agencies’ role in the politics as it only caused anarchy in the country”, Baloch said.
