Tennis: Anderson downs Isner in semis
Anderson toppled top-seed John Isner 7-5, 7-6 to reach the final of the Delray Beach International.
DELRAY BEACH:
South African Kevin Anderson toppled top-seed John Isner 7-5, 7-6 to reach the final of the Delray Beach International. Both players fired 16 aces but Isner also had three double-faults, including one on the first point of the second-set tie-breaker which gave Anderson the opening he needed in the decider. “I couldn’t have played a better match today,” said Anderson. “I knew I had to really take care of my service games, and I served well, especially in the tie-breaker.” Awaiting Anderson in the final is Australian qualifier Marinko Matosevic, who beat Israel’s Dudi Sela 5-7, 6-4, 7-6.
