KARACHI: An activist of Sindh Taraqi Pasand Party (STPP) was killed on Sunday in a clash with workers of the Awami National Party (ANP) in Gulistan-e-Jauhar, police said.

Sajjad Chandio lost his life when men belonging to the political parties started fighting at an ANP camp, set up to celebrate Shahi Syed’s senate election victory, near Hussain Hazara Goth.

Three other people were also injured during the fight.

Senate elections

Out of a total of 47 seats (minus the seven that will be recounted from Balochistan), the ANP snapped up six seats.

Of the seven general seats withheld from Balochistan, one was initially won by the ANP.

With the result, and assuming the Balochistan recount keeps the results the same, the ANP will have 12 seats of the 104-member house.
