Us-Sponsored Programme: Fourth levies class graduates
With the graduation of this 37-member class, a total of 224 Fata levies have received basic training.
ISLAMABAD:
The fourth class of levies from the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) graduated on Saturday from a US government-sponsored training programme, the Levy Basic Recruit Course, at police headquarters on Saturday. With the graduation of this 37-member class, a total of 224 Fata levies have received basic training since May 2010 under the US Embassy’s Police Assistance Programme. Fata Deputy Secretary of Narcotics Munirullah Khan presided over the ceremony and presented the graduates with certificates honouring their achievement. The graduation is the latest milestone in the US police training programme, which has provided $17 million worth equipment to the Fata secretariat to date, including vehicles, communications equipment, body armour, and other items.
