PALM BEACH GARDENS:
Justin Rose fired a second-straight 66 to claim a share of the halfway-lead alongside Tom Gillis at the US PGA Tour Honda Classic. Gillis carded a 64 to join Rose on eight-under 132, one shot in front of Rory McIlroy, who had four birdies in a three-under 67. “I had a few chances early on and didn’t take them,” said McIlroy. “But to bounce back and birdie three of the last five holes was nice and puts me in a great position.” Meanwhile, Tiger Woods was still seven shots off the pace after capping his round with back-to-back birdies for a two-under 68.
